Generate assessments the way you think. Describe what you need, upload what you have, or combine both. Experience more control over the output with less time spent getting there.
USE CASES
1. Prompt Only: Need a quick quiz? Simply type "Create an advanced assessment on workplace health and safety legislation" and set your question count. No files required.
2. File and Prompt: Upload a new training manual and add a prompt like "Focus on the differences between the old and new platform. Make the questions challenging and use multiple choice."
3. File Only: Maintain your existing workflow by uploading a document and letting the AI handle the rest.
HOW TO SET UP AND GENERATE
Follow these steps to build your next activity:
1. Navigate to the Create Activity form within Cloud Assess.
2. Select the Generate activity with AI option.
3. Choose your input method:
• Type a Prompt: In the Describe your activity field, enter your instructions (up to 1,000 characters). Specify question types, difficulty levels, or focus areas.
• Upload a File: Drag and drop your .docx or PDF training materials to provide a source of truth for the AI.
• Both: Combine a file with a prompt to give the AI specific guidance on how to interpret your document.
4. Set your hard constraints: Select the number of sections and the number of questions per section. These selectors will always override any numbers mentioned in your prompt to ensure the structure meets your requirements.
5. Click Create.
6. Review: A loading indicator will appear. Once finished, the screen will automatically refresh to display your new activity. No manual page refreshing is needed.
TIPS FOR SUCCESSFUL PROMPTS
• Be specific: Instead of "Make a quiz," try "Create a technical assessment for electrical apprentices focusing on circuit testing."
• Define the type: Mention if you prefer multiple choice, short answers, or a mix.
• Set the bar: Use terms like beginner, intermediate, or advanced to steer the difficulty level.
FAQ
Is there a limit to how much I can write in the prompt?
Yes, the prompt field supports up to 1,000 characters (approximately 150 to 250 words), giving you plenty of space to provide detailed instructions.
What happens if I forget to upload a file and leave the prompt blank?
The system requires at least one input. You will see an inline error message asking you to provide either a prompt or a file before you can click Create.
Which input does the AI prioritize?
The AI follows a strict hierarchy:
1. Your Uploaded Content (The source of truth)
2. Your Selectors (The number of questions/sections you set in the form)
3. Your Prompt (The instructions for tone and style)
What if the generation fails?
If a connection is lost or an error occurs, you will receive a clear notification with the option to retry. The system will retain your prompt and file so you do not have to start over.
Can I use this for E-learning content like flashcards?
Currently, this feature is optimized for assessment activities (questions). Support for E-learning elements like accordions and images is planned for a future update.
