Scope

After configuring the ‘general’ settings and ‘marking & completion’ settings, you have some final (or ‘other’) settings needed for your new activity template. There are six (6) options available. These are:

  1. New Attempt options

    1. Blank/Duplicate

    2. Blank

    3. Duplicate

  2. Release automatically on enrolment

  3. Require instructions confirmation by team

  4. Show logo in PDF

  5. Restrict management for dual-role users enrolled in activity

  6. Enable report for student

The default configuration is shown in the screenshot below:

Requirements

Permissions needed for Admin users:

● Intakes/Groups = Manage All

● Design = YES

Method

Option 1: New Attempt options

This setting allows you to lock the available options when a ‘New Attempt’ is manually created by an Assessor/Admin/Power user. There are three options to choose from:

  1. Blank/Duplicate

The user can choose to issue a Blank New Attempt or a Duplicate New Attempt

  2. Blank

The user can only issue a Blank New Attempt

  3. Duplicate

The user can only issue a Duplicate New Attempt

Please note, this setting is overridden by any New Attempt workflows [Insert link to Workflows]

Option 2: Release automatically on enrolment

This setting allows you to choose if this activity is released automatically when a learner is enrolled in the associated unit.

Please note, this setting is overridden by any Journey applied to the learner’s enrolment that also links to the course/qualification that is associated with this activity (see Journeys).

Option 3: Require instructions confirmation by team

This setting allows you to choose if the Assessor/Admin/Power user is required to confirm their understanding of the Information page (in the same way a learner does). There may be a confirmation requirement if the activity has specific information for the Assessor/Admin/Power. Or, there may be no pertinent information for the Assessor/Admin/Power user on the Information page, and therefore, can be disabled.

Option 4: Show logo in PDF

This setting allows you to choose if your platform branding is included in any exports of this activity.

Option 5: Restrict management for dual-role users enrolled in activity

This setting will prevent Assessors from being assessors for this activity if they are also enrolled as learners in this activity. This means that an Assessor cannot mark their own submissions if the activity has this setting enabled (see Dual-Roles).

Option 6: Enable report for student

This setting will enable a learner to export a PDF of the activity. This setting is used in conjunction with the ‘Export’ permission on the learner’s user profile settings. Both need to be activated in order for the learner to export a PDF record (see User Roles & Permissions).
