Scope

After you have decided the general settings for your activity template, you will need to decide its marking and completion behavior. Depending on the desired outcome, these settings can be mixed and matched accordingly. The five (5) available settings are:

  1. Auto-Resulting

  2. Activity to be completed by:

    1. Learners

    2. Third Parties

    3. Learner and Third Parties (see Combined Records)

  3. Completion Behavior:

    1. No additional action (standard)

    2. Expire after completion (cyclical)

    3. Repeat on submission (logbook) (see Logbook: Configuration, Design & Delivery)

Note:

● Choosing either ‘design from scratch’ or ‘generate using AI’ in the General Settings will allow you to modify up to five (5) settings in ‘Marking & Completion’.

● Choosing to ‘use SCORM content’ in the General Settings will limit you to only one (1) Marking & Completion setting - Completion Behavior

Requirements

Permissions needed for Admin users:

● Intakes/Groups = Manage All

● Design = YES

Method

Option 1: Grading Scheme if enabled (if not - go to Step 2)

Here, you can choose the grading scheme that is applied to this activity template. To set up Grading Schemes, please refer to this Help Centre article [Insert Link for Grading Schemes]. Additionally, the preprogrammed Satisfactory/Achieved threshold can be overridden here. You will not see this option if Grading Schemes are disabled on your account. The default will only show the ‘Target % Satisfactory/Achieved’ (Step 2)

Option 2: Auto-Result

This setting will allow the platform to automatically place a final grade on the activity if the Satisfactory threshold has been reached. This means that the assigned assessor does not need to outcome the activity. The “%” is calculated based on the questions in the activity. If the activity has 10 autograded questions, and the “target %” is 100%, then the platform will auto-result any submitted activities that have 10 correct responses. If the activity has 10 autograded questions, and the “target %” is 80%, then the platform will auto-result any submitted activities that have 8 correct responses.

Option 3: AI Marking Assistant (available late-Q3 2025)

This setting will enable the AI marking assistant on the activity template. The AI marking assistant will suggest marking outcomes when the Assessor marks this activity. Please see this Help Centre article for more information around the AI marking assistant [Insert Link for AI marking assistant]

Option 4: Activity to be completed by

This setting has three (3) options:

1. Learners

This means that the activity is released to the learner, they complete it, then submit it back to the assessor for marking.

2. Third Parties

This means that the activity is released to the assigned third party, they complete it, then they submit it back to the assessor for marking.

Note: The third party will need to have either ‘Participate’ or ‘Participate & Read’ as their permission.

3. Learners and Third Parties

This means that the learner receives and completes the activity first, then they submit it to their assigned third party. The third party then completes their parts of the activity then submits it to the assessor for marking. Please see this Help Centre article for more information regarding this particular option [Insert Link for Combined Records]

Note: The third party will need to have either ‘Participate’ or ‘Participate & Read’ as their permission

Option 5: Completion Behavior

This setting also has three (3) options:

  1. No additional action

This means that the learner (or third party) does not have to engage with this activity after it has been submitted/marked Satisfactory. ‘Not Satisfactory’ outcomes falls under either manual New Attempt processes or Workflows [Insert Link for Workflows]

  2. Expire after completion (learner-completion only)

This means that the learner will need to complete a new attempt for this activity after a specified amount of time has passed (or after a specific date has passed, applied by the assessor). Cyclical records can be further managed through the workflows of the platform [Insert Link for Workflows]

  3. Repeat after submission (learner-completion only)

This means that the learner will receive a new instance of the activity immediately after submitting one. This logbook style record is further managed in the unit/module area of the platform [Insert Link for Logbook Configuration, Design & Delivery]
